THE IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRATING A COMPLETE RETIREMENT/ESTATE PLAN

WITH INVESTMENTS, LIFE INSURANCE AND INCOME ANNUITIES

SCOTT SWEET

TOM WUNDERLICK

Sponsored by The Catholic Foundation, Texas Health Resources and Texas Bank & Trust

Recent research by accounting firms and the American College of Financial Services has focused on the most optimal method of producing retirement income and a financial legacy for the people and causes you care about most.  This research considered several scenarios and products to determine the best strategy(s) whether one wants to maximize income during their lifetime, financial legacy at death or a certain combination of both.  The results showed a fully integrated approach incorporating investments, life insurance and income annuities achieved the best outcomes for all objectives.  Thus, all involved in developing and executing a client’s financial plan should be aware of the benefits of integration and how it also impacts traditional thoughts on estate planning.

Scott Sweet is a “recovering attorney” after spending the 90’s as a trial attorney for a downtown Dallas law firm.  Scott’s been a financial advisor for over 25 years earning several professional designations that his daughters refer to as “LMNOP”.  He’s a partner with WWA Integrated Wealth Strategy Group which is the largest producing group in the Northwestern Mutual system.

Tom Wunderlick graduated from Jesuit high school in 1982. After attending University of Oklahoma, he joined Northwestern Mutual in 1988. In 2002, Tom left Northwestern Mutual to form two different companies, one of which was sold to The Container Store in 2012, the other one was sold to an oil and gas company. In 2017, Tom re-joined Northwestern Mutual, formed WWA Integrated Wealth Strategy Group. WWA specializes in integrated financial planning – Tom’s specialty is working with business owners in all facets, especially risk and estate planning.
