SPOUSAL LIFETIME ACCESS TRUSTS AND OTHER GIFTS WITH STRINGS ATTACHED

JOHN ANDREWS

John Andrews will discuss the currently popular Spousal Lifetime Access Trust techniques being employed by high net worth individuals to take advantage of the $5.12 million gift tax and generation-skipping tax that expires on January 1, and other techniques for reducing estate taxes and protecting assets while retaining some degree of control and benefits.    John is a graduate of SMU and the University of Texas School of Law.  He has practiced in Dallas since 1978 and is a founding partner of the law firm of Andrews & Barth, PC.  Mr. Andrews practices in the area of estate planning and corporate law and is certified in estate planning by the Texas State Board of Legal Specialization.  Mr. Andrews is a frequent speaker on such topics as family limited partnerships, asset protection and generation-skipping planning.
